"O-oka-ay.." Malia said, her voice shaking.
"Uh.. you're Aspen, right? From district 2?" Suddenly she hardened. "Where are the other careers? You've come to take me down and bring me to them, aren't you? Well I can fight too." Malia said, knowing perfectly well that she couldn't beat Aspen while Aspen had a knife and Malia only had her bare hands. |

"What are you talking bout? And yes I am Aspen. But I'd never join that filthy career pack. I hate them." Aspens voice rose upon each syllable she said. She picks up her knife and darts it at the bottom of the tree."You dont trust me? Fine then. I guess you dont want an ally." Aspen retrieves her knife and takes out a half empty water bottle to drink."Save your sympathy."She snarls., |

"Wait." Malia said, holding out her hand. She considered the possibilities. She could have been lying about not being an ally. Allies mean weaknesses. She might kill me in my sleep. Then again, she does have weapons. She looks pretty strong. She also seems smart.

Aspen stops in her tracks the moment she heard Malia's voice. "Okay." She said, as she collapses by the tree in exhaustion. "Im not going to kill you if thats what your thinking. I never wanted to be here in the first place." Aspen digs her boots in the dirt as her voice soothes a little which reminds her that everyone is watching. |
